Sea Green Tourmaline Pearl Earrings (Exclusive)

In these regal earrings, silvery white pearls have been decorated Maki-e style using abalone shell mosaic tiles and 24k gold paint. Beautiful sea green cabochon tourmalines and sparkling diamonds give light and coolness to the white in the pearls. The gold has been given a soft, parchment-like texture making it feel almost velvety to the touch. French ear wires are in 18K gold ear wires.

Maki-e is a traditional Japanese paint technique developed over a millennia ago where lacquer is applied to surfaces, and pure gold or silver paint is mixed in for flat or raised ornamentation. Often mosaics are added to the decorative pattern, created from tiny abalone tiles, frequently accented with the same gold or silver paint.
